Vlada Soshkina

Born in Ukraine and holding a master's degree in fine art, Vlada Soshkina is an illustrator and visual artist who divides her time between Paris and New York. A children's book illustrator, she co-founded the Red Wooden Flag studio with Polina Doroshenko in 2014, focusing on illustration and book design. She thinks of a mural as a picture book that tells stories, drawing on folklore, naive art and traditional crafts, and works in bold flat colour and cut-out shapes that extend into textile collage. As artist-in-residence in Paducah, Kentucky, she painted "Dialog", a mural portraying herself and her husband as a nomadic couple. In July 2026 she took part in Plein Champ, the urban art festival held in the Gué-de-Maulny park in Le Mans.
