Biography

Samione is a graffiti writer from Armentières in northern France and a member of the Renart collective, which has been painting across the Hauts-de-France region since the 1990s. He first picked up a spray can at a workshop run by his town library and went on to spend years on handstyle, the calligraphy of tagging. His work now rests on a single continuous line, his "oneline", from which faces and moving figures emerge, drawn from the people he meets in cities. During residencies at FLOW in Lille in 2021 and 2022 he explored movement alongside hip-hop dancers, and in 2021 he painted a mural more than 25 metres long at the Cité des Électriciens in Bruay-La-Buissière. In July 2026 he painted live at Plein Champ, the urban art festival in Le Mans's Gué-de-Maulny park.
