Biography

Apaiz is the name used by Félix Wysocki, a Paris-born painter and muralist who divides his time between Strasbourg and Barcelona. He came up through graffiti, which he started at 13, then studied at the fine arts schools of Brest and Seville and graduated from the Haute École des arts du Rhin in 2016. His murals combine lettering, realism and symbolism: realistically painted bodies and faces, often paired with words in an alphabet of his own, dealing with isolation, social divides and our relationship with the living world. Notable walls include "Huidhonger", about lockdown isolation, the anti-overfishing "Vivre à crédit" in Strasbourg, and murals in Spain, Chile and Argentina. He painted live at Plein Champ, the urban art festival in Le Mans' Parc du Gué-de-Maulny, in July 2026.
