Ashraf

Ashraf is a Tunisian painter and calligrapher with a master's degree in visual arts. His work draws on a path running from Douz, on the edge of the desert, to the island of Djerba, where he lived, and on to Normandy, where he now divides his time with Djerba. There he leads projects with schools, including a mural painted with the pupils of Chandai, in the Orne, in 2020-2021. In Djerba he paints portraits of women in which colour bursts in loose splashes around a face drawn in black.
