Tinho

Tinho, born Walter Nomura in São Paulo in 1973, has been part of Brazil's urban movements since the 1980s, from skateboarding and pichação to punk and hip-hop, and is regarded as one of the pioneers of Latin American graffiti. After graduating in fine arts from FAAP in 1997, he built a body of work about human relationships in the metropolis, often told through his patchwork rag dolls. He painted at Djerbahood in 2014 and again in 2022, and showed at the Havana Biennial in 2009.
