Arnaud Frenck

Arnaud Frenck, from Chalonnes-sur-Loire in the Anjou region of France, draws in ink on slates and old stones salvaged from historic or ruined sites. His practice grew out of urban exploration and a fondness for buildings facing demolition: he takes a piece of the place, paints it and leaves it behind so the site keeps a trace of itself. His white-line slates framed with scrolls turn up across Anjou and as far as Rennes.
