Chrystelle Chouteau

Chrystelle Chouteau is a painter based in the Pays de Retz, on the southern shore of the Loire estuary in western France, who signs her murals "Chrys". She works in a figurative, trompe-l'œil vein: her wall in Les Moutiers-en-Retz is painted as a large framed picture hung on the façade, with branches and foliage spilling out past the frame and onto the plaster. Her subject is marshland wildlife, grey heron, mallard, reeds, butterflies and wild flowers, rendered in soft blue-greens. She also shows canvases locally, including at the opening group show of the AZALI association at the De Zéro à l'Infini gallery in Saint-Brevin-les-Pins in December 2025.
