SHOK-1

SHOK-1 is a British artist based in London who came up through graffiti in the mid-1980s. He pioneered aerosol X-ray art: hands, skulls, animals and plants rendered as radiographs, sprayed freehand without stencils or masking tape. His translucent greens and blues on dark backgrounds borrow the language of medical imaging to talk about science, the body and society. His walls run from London's East End to North America and Asia, and his work is also shown in galleries.
