Reskate

Reskate is a Spanish collective formed by María López, known as Minuskula, born in 1980 in Donostia-San Sebastián, and Javier de Riba, born in 1985 in Barcelona, where their studio sits in the Sants district. Drawing on classic sign painting, popular culture and graphic design, their practice spans murals, illustration, exhibitions and installations, each wall telling a story rooted in the local culture around it. Their Harreman series layers two images using photoluminescent paint: once night falls, the wall reveals a second picture. They have painted from Catalonia to China, taking in the Basque Country, Portugal, England, France, Germany, Belgium, Romania, Austria, the Azores and the United States.
