Ben Johnston

Ben Johnston is a typographic artist and muralist based in Toronto, Canada, who grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. A self-taught graphic designer, he paints monumental lettering in which cast shadows and shifting perspectives give words the weight of sculpture. He has completed more than a hundred murals worldwide, each one built around the windows and edges of the wall it covers. His work has been shown at the Art Gallery of Ontario and has taken him from clients such as Nike, Dior and Samsung to PangeaSeed's Sea Walls program.
