Paulina Nawrot

Paulina Nawrot, who also goes by Nawrotanka, is a Polish artist from the Tri-City area, now based in Łódź. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, she divides her practice between mural painting and textile design, hand-painting every pattern herself. Her walls are figurative, soft and luminous, and often built on spiritual imagery she deliberately leaves open to interpretation. With Aleksandra Adamczuk she painted "Jonasz" (2015) on ul. Legionów for the Urban Forms Foundation, and in 2018 she completed "Oblicze Piękna" on ul. Wschodnia, a face of Mary stripped of every religious emblem, made with an artistic scholarship from the Mayor of Łódź.
