Biography
Valeria Iozzi is a Neapolitan muralist and set designer. That double practice is legible in the way she treats a wall as a stage set: she composes with what surrounds it rather than laying an image over it.
Her piece at Aielli Stazione shows it clearly. She stages what the village already has in front of it, the mountain that serves as its backdrop, the church of San Giuseppe and the inhabitants themselves, so that the mural extends the real landscape instead of replacing it. She also forms the duo Le Bis with Emanuela Esposito, with whom she has worked for around a decade.
