Piyomuros

Piyomuros is a muralist based in Valencia, painting mostly around the El Carmen quarter and the Mercado Central. The practice runs from walls to metal shutters to paper: acrylic and gouache murals, chalk-marker boards for neighbourhood bars, drawings and commissioned portraits. His figures come outlined in black and filled with saturated flats, often fed by local imagery, as in Espejo del sol at Casa Bravo, drawn from the Albufera, or Paquita Brown, a fallera turned queen of the Mercado Central. He signs with a hand-lettered PIYOMUROS, from the collar of the cat on carrer dels Caixers to his canvases.
