Anacdia

Anacdia, real name Ana Collado Díaz, is a painter and illustrator born in Valencia in 1973 and a fine arts graduate of the Universitat Politècnica de València. Her work draws on the iconography of classic Hollywood, television and pop culture, reassembled into narrative, almost cinematic images where nostalgia meets humour. She builds her compositions like collages without ever cutting or pasting anything, and likes to set her figures against fields of flat colour. In publishing she illustrated La salita amarilla by Juan José Collado, designed the poster for Aforismats, a project devoted to the writer Joan Fuster, and took part in the collective València se ilustra. She is one of the artists invited to paint the outside walls of the Radio City venue in the old town of Valencia.
