Djuradje

Djuradj Stevanović, who signs his walls Djuradje, is a Serbian graffiti writer and muralist. His painting sits between realism and caricature: characters with exaggerated features, flat bold colours and heavy black outlines, set against pastel backgrounds scattered with graphic marks. In 2019 he painted "Old man and the ocean" in Saint-Nazaire, France, on a blockhouse wall in the Petit Maroc district facing the sea, showing an old sailor scanning the horizon through a spyglass with a seagull perched on his shoulder. The Bouge festival later invited him back for another mural, in the Méan-Penhoët neighbourhood. He still paints in Serbia, including commissioned walls, and documents his work on Instagram.
