Trackside Studios

Trackside Studios is a Halifax collective of Nova Scotian artists founded by Michael Burt, working alongside D. Burt, D. Fraser and S. Owens. The studio takes on large-scale murals, traditional graffiti lettering, sign painting and custom canvas work, with spray cans as readily as with brushes. Burt has been painting since his teens and moves constantly between the wall and the studio, bringing art out into the streets and the streets back onto his canvases. The collective runs the Halifax Mural Festival, a driving force behind the city's urban art scene, and has painted for Ronald McDonald House Maritimes, the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront and Red Deer's Meet the Street festival in Alberta. Its murals turn up across Nova Scotia, as far as Sydney on Cape Breton Island.
