Biography
Filippo Tonni, better known as Mozone, is an Italian graffiti writer and illustrator born in Rimini, on the Adriatic coast, in 1980. Self-taught, he got into graffiti in the early 1990s and built his practice on writing (bombing, lettering, characters) before folding in illustration, graphic design and film photography. His imagery draws on vintage Italian and French comics, 1970s and 1980s Japanese cartoons and classic cars, the theme of his Ruggine'80 project. He belongs to artist collectives in Rimini, Milan and Bordeaux, chairs the urban art association Artai and writes about mural painting for Italian magazines. In 2018 he teamed up with Jean Rooble on the Shake Well festival mural on the Pessac university campus, near Bordeaux.
