SozyOne

Pablo Sozyone Gonzalez was born in Brussels in 1973 into an Asturian family and has been painting in the street since 1988. A member of the R.A.B. crew and a co-founder of the UltraBoys International in 1996, he pulled graffiti away from lettering and towards the figure: faces and animals rebuilt from flats of electric colour edged in black, with distorted, almost cubist volumes. His work moves between walls and gallery shows, from the Brussels street art trail to the Speerstra and Colab galleries. A long-standing guest of Cologne's Arty Farty Gallery, where he has exhibited since 2009, he also paints facades in the surrounding Ehrenfeld district.
