Nitram Joke

Nitram Joke is a muralist and calligraffiti artist based in Marseille. Coming out of graffiti, he treats the letter as raw material: redrawn, destructured and pushed towards geometric abstraction, legibility set aside when the composition calls for it. He also works as a hand letterer and paints calligraphic canvases, shown in galleries and sold through his own online shop. His lettering often frames the characters of Marseille writers, Tetal above all, and he paints at festivals in France and abroad, from Glasgow to Geneva.
