Keulion

Keulion, born on 1 July 1987 in Douala and who died in 2023, was a Cameroonian visual artist trained at the doctoral school of visual arts at the University of Yaoundé 1. His work, often compared to that of Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, is built on a pictogram writing system he called Banka, after a culture of western Cameroon. He painted several murals in Marseille in connection with the Meta 2 association and its MauMa urban art trail, among them Nkwëni, made in July 2023.
