Slimensay

Slimensay, whose real name is Slimane Sayoud, is a Marseille artist working across illustration, painting, sculpture and tattooing. In the street he sprays photorealistic portraits set against backgrounds of flat geometric colour blocks in yellow, blue and red, playing the precision of the face against the abstraction of the setting. He signs his walls with his alias followed by the Instagram logo. One of his portraits of an elderly man covers the roller shutter of a spirits bar on Rue des Trois Frères Barthélémy, in the 6th district of Marseille.
