Mahn Kloix

Mahn Kloix is a French street artist born in Paris in 1980 and based in Marseille. His work is devoted to figures of commitment: activists, whistleblowers, resistance fighters and survivors, whose faces he enlarges into monumental portraits on building walls. He works with cut stencils, which give his portraits flat, sharp colour areas and the look of a giant screen print. In October 2021 he unveiled a 200 sq m portrait of Uyghur camp survivor Tursunay Ziawudun on Rue Félix-Pyat in the 3rd district of Marseille, painted with 760 stencils over ten days on the gable wall of an Orange building. The piece opened MauMA, Marseille's museum of urban art.
