Marc Hennig

Marc Hennig, also known as APE152, is a Düsseldorf artist who came out of graffiti and has been painting since 1986. With his brother Joe he forms the MaJo Brothers, a fixture of the local graffiti scene, known for the yellow monkey that keeps reappearing on the city's walls and for the Affenhaus on Kiefernstraße (2008). His practice reaches well beyond facades, into graphic design, illustration, animation and wooden objects. In 2010 the Hennig brothers founded the youth art association Verbunt e.V., and they regularly run workshops for children and teenagers. In 2018 he painted the facade at Kiefernstraße 27 on his own, a set of figures drawn in a single continuous blue line over flat yellow and turquoise shapes, and in 2024 he painted a facade on Wittenberger Weg in Garath for the 40 Grad Urban Art festival.
