Rakaposhii

Rakaposhii is a Cologne artist and a fixture of the Ehrenfeld district, whose alias is borrowed from a peak in the Karakoram range in Pakistan. His work draws on spiritual, meditative imagery — reclining Buddhas, trees of life, mystical symbols drawn in white line on dark grounds — and also ventures into mural calligraphy, with large supple lettering in pastel tones. He took part in the CityLeaks festival from 2011 onwards and collaborates regularly with the Captain Borderline collective, with whom he made the "Mystical wall" on Lichtstraße in 2010 and the reclining Buddha on Lessingstraße.
