Théo Lopez

Théo Lopez, born in 1989, is a French painter and muralist, a member of the Paris collective 9ème Concept which he joined in 2008. His work draws on German Expressionism, Russian Constructivism and European lyrical abstraction. He starts from spontaneous gestures and turns them into structured geometric forms, courting accident in order to feed on it, and describes a sculptor's approach applied to painting. His first solo show came in 2013; around ten more have followed in Paris, Geneva and Hong Kong.
