Fikos

Fikos, in full Fikos Antonios, is a Greek painter born in Athens in 1987. He started studying Byzantine painting at the age of thirteen in the studio of the iconographer George Kordis, with whom he later painted the walls of Orthodox churches, and he also came out of graffiti: he made the two practices converge under the name contemporary Byzantine painting, with elongated figures, clear outlines, a palette of earths and ochres, and subjects drawn from Greek mythology as much as from Christian iconography. He painted the largest mural in the history of Greek Byzantine art, 46 metres high, along with walls in Kyiv, Patras, Novi Sad, Bangkok, Versailles and Rabat. In Marseille he painted the bird mural of the Murs d'Audubon programme facing Saint-Charles station in 2021.
