Denis Carenco

Denis Carenco is a French painter, a graduate of the Marseille School of Fine Arts, who specialises in fresco and monumental trompe-l'oeil. In 1994, chosen by the building's architect to bring colour to the neighbourhood, he painted the Tourette fresco in Marseille together with Nathalie Carenco: 220 m² completed in nine weeks on a gable 22 metres high, after a ceiling by Giambattista Tiepolo. He works from the Mas des Anges studio in the heart of the Alpilles, producing lime-and-sand frescoes inspired by Pompeian painting, Italian Renaissance trompe-l'oeil, paintings and bas-reliefs, for both public and private commissions. In 2019 he signed a mural in Jonquières-Saint-Vincent dedicated to the writers Frédéric Mistral and Alphonse Daudet.
