Un Coeur de Plus

Un Cœur de Plus is the street project of Marseille artist AIMSA, who scatters small hand-painted wooden plaques across the city, each carrying a red heart and a tender or encouraging message. The gesture is deliberately simple, legible to everyone, and deliberately low-waste: the wood is salvaged from a DIY chain that had earmarked it for destruction. The plaques have since reached some twenty cities in around fifteen countries, while remaining concentrated in Marseille, the artist's home city. An association of the same name extends the work, fighting illiteracy and opening art up to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
