Rocket01

Rocket01 is a British artist from Sheffield, now based in Portugal where he runs a studio in Porto. He started painting graffiti in 1994, standing out with lettering that combined realism and three-dimensional volumes, before moving towards what he calls a dreamy sci-fi retro surrealism. His walls bring together technology, nature and environmental concerns, with motifs that recur from one mural to the next: helmets and headwear, animals, and the peace symbol. His palette, which he says is drawn from plant life, runs on reds, greens, turquoises and pinks, sprayed with modified caps to get fine strokes.
