Biography
Les Crayons is a Belgian collective of illustrators and muralists based in Brussels. Its work is recognisable by compositions saturated with tiny grotesque figures, drawn in fine line and washed with pale colour, filling the wall from edge to edge with no apparent hierarchy. The manner points straight back to Bruegel's teeming engravings. In May 2019 the collective painted two walls on rue du Miroir in the Marolles for the Bruegel Trail, staged for the 450th anniversary of the painter's death.
