Biography
Jean Roba (Brussels, 1930 - 2006) was a Belgian cartoonist who came from advertising and joined Spirou magazine in 1957, first working alongside Franquin. In 1959 he created Boule et Bill, the chronicle of an ordinary family and their cocker spaniel, which became one of the most popular series in Franco-Belgian comics. His round, luminous drawing and gift for the silent gag made him a master of the strip. His mural on rue du Chevreuil, painted in 1992, is one of the oldest on the Comic Book Route.
