Biography
William Vance, real name William Van Cutsem (Anderlecht, 1935 - Santenay, 2018), was a Belgian artist trained at the Brussels Academy of Fine Arts. A master of realism, he drew Bruno Brazil, Bob Morane, Ramiro and, from 1984, XIII to scripts by Jean Van Hamme, an amnesia thriller that became one of European comics' greatest commercial successes. His mural on rue Philippe de Champagne, painted in 2010, sets the hero in front of a New York yellow cab.
