Biography
Edgar P. Jacobs (Brussels, 1904 - Lasne, 1987) created Blake and Mortimer, a series born in 1946 in the very first issue of Tintin magazine. A former opera singer turned illustrator, he worked with Hergé on recolouring The Adventures of Tintin before developing his own universe, a blend of spy fiction, science fiction and meticulous documentation. The Yellow "M" (1956) remains its most famous album. The Brussels mural reproducing its cover has been unveiled three times at three successive addresses, the latest on rue du Temple in 2021.
