Daniela Guerreiro

Daniela Guerreiro is a Portuguese visual artist, born in Faro in 1992 and based in Lisbon. She studied Visual Arts at the University of the Algarve and painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon, and works above all as a figurative painter: painting she describes as raw and unvarnished, devoted to bodies that fall outside conventional standards and are caught in moments of vulnerability. Her themes run from identity and intimacy to loneliness, domestic violence, discrimination and poverty. She moved from canvas to wall in 2019 through a public commission for the Loures council, and has since painted large murals in Portugal and abroad, from MurArcos to Stramurales in Italy, Oceans Wall in Lisbon and B-Murals in Barcelona.
