Jhon Douglas

Jhon Douglas is a Brazilian artist from Vilhena, in Rondônia, in the Amazon region, based in Lisbon since the mid 2010s. He calls himself a multi-artist: painting, live drawing, sculpture and prints, but also films, productions and musical compositions, and he is one of the founders of Studio Cabron. On walls his vocabulary is made of organic shapes and repeated geometric motifs, chevrons, checks, drops and crescents, drawn in black and yellow straight onto bare concrete, with no hierarchy and no central subject, in a register close to tribal graphics. He has painted and exhibited in Brazil, Mexico, Paraguay and Portugal, notably at the Malapata gallery in Lisbon with the series "Artista não faz curva".
