Steep

Steep is an Ecuadorian muralist, known online as Steep Aeon. He fills his walls with mythical figures and fantastical characters drawn from the imagery of Amazonian peoples: painted faces, feather headdresses, claw necklaces, surrounded by beetles, butterflies, fish and birds, an Amazonian biodiversity rendered in flat bright colours and fine linework. Ancestral magic and an enigmatic cosmovision are the material of his compositions. He has painted in Ecuador, Peru, Argentina and at international festivals, including "Dios del Inicio" in Cali for the second International Biennial of Muralism and Public Art, "Planeta gigante" in Maracay, Venezuela, and "Protectora" in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. In Lisbon he painted "Consejo del agua" in the Marvila district for the MURO 2017 festival.
