Does

Joos van Barneveld, known as Does (or Digital Does), is a Dutch graffiti writer born in Veghel in 1982. A professional footballer until the age of 28, a midfielder for Fortuna Sittard and then FC Eindhoven, he painted at night in secret until a knee injury ended his sporting career in 2010 and pushed him into art full time. His whole vocabulary rests on four letters, D, O, E and S, which he breaks down into faceted volumes, razor edges and painted shadows until they verge on abstraction. A co-founder of the European LoveLetters crew (2006) and a member of Ironlak Team Europe, he extended his practice into sculpture with the BRIQUE series (2018) and published the book "Qui Facit, Creat" (2017). He has painted and exhibited in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia, and now lives in Sittard.
