Sly2

Sly2 is a self-taught illustrator born in 1984 in the Paris region. Always looking for new explorations, a sheet of paper was no longer enough for him: in the late 1990s he moved onto walls and joined the 3PP collective. His painting is spontaneous and instinctive, as if sketched out on a play of light, often in high-contrast black and white and centred on the portrait. In constant questioning about the world around him, he paints with a sense of urgency and shares his work to open a dialogue, as he likes to put it: if walls have ears, they can also speak. His practice also runs through canvas, body painting, photography, video and set design for hip-hop dance companies. In Bourges he painted an anti-speciesist mural for the Nos Viventia collective, "Speciesism, sexism, racism: the real pests".
