Gabriel Hune

Gabriel Hune is a Brazilian illustrator and artist shaped by the graffiti scenes of Brazil and Chile. He started out on canvas and reclaimed wood before moving onto walls, where he refined an instantly recognisable style: characters with grey faces and glossy black hair, dressed in flat geometric colour and set against dotted backgrounds. Cartoon, pop surrealism and geometry meet there in a gentle palette and playful themes, with a recurring figure who has set off in search of their heart. He works intuitively, immersing himself in a subject or a feeling until a surreal image emerges from it. He is represented by 19 Karen Gallery in Australia and splits his activity between Brazil, Portugal, Australia and Spain. One of his murals stands in Almada, Portugal.
