Biography
Julien Colombier is a French artist born in 1972 who lives and works in Paris. A self-taught painter, he works mainly in acrylic and oil stick, on canvas, paper and wood as well as directly on walls. His world is an overgrown jungle: leaves, palms and geometric patterns repeated to the point of hypnosis, fed by graffiti, Japanese art, Matisse and Keith Haring. His landmark projects include a carte blanche from the RATP in the Châtelet metro station in Paris and the immersive installation "I see plants, they're growing" at MIMA in Brussels in 2024. He regularly collaborates with fashion and luxury houses such as Hermès, Chanel, Cartier and Ferragamo.
