Cédric Nowak

Cédric Nowak is an artist from Reims, born in 1968, a sign painter, graphic designer and visual artist. Trained at the École Blot in Reims between 1984 and 1987, he first worked as a professional letter painter, then as a screen-printing layout artist and agency creative, before becoming a teacher of fine and applied arts. Freelance since 2004 and a member of the La Mine collective, he treats hand-painted lettering as a discipline in its own right: his wall pieces are typographic compositions drawing on vintage poster design, where line, ornament and medallions take precedence over imagery. His exhibition "Bichromies" was shown at La Petite Halle.
