Frederico Draw

Frederico Draw, born Frederico Soares Campos, is a Portuguese artist based in Porto. Trained as an architect, he started tagging in 2001 in Freamunde under the influence of New York hip-hop culture before moving to large-scale murals. His signature is the monochrome portrait in shades of grey, almost always anonymous faces rendered at very large scale with an accuracy close to charcoal drawing. A member of Colectivo RUA in Porto, he has exhibited in Portugal and Italy and taken part in urban art festivals in Portugal, Italy and Spain. Among his best-known works is "Batuko", painted in Lisbon in 2019 with the Ergo Bandits collective for the Casa da Cultura Cabo-Verdiana.
