Biography
Rosarlette Meirelles is a Brazilian artist from São Paulo who lives in Almada, on the south bank of the Tagus opposite Lisbon. She draws directly on walls in charcoal and chalk, in black and white, often inside rectangular recesses hollowed out of the render that act as frames. Her subjects are almost exclusively portraits, children, young women and elderly people, whose gaze is the real motif: her work questions looking as a sense, a line of thought she extended through the pandemic. Her exhibition "A Voz do Olhar" was shown at the Solar dos Zagallos in Almada in 2021. The Cova da Piedade district holds several of her interventions, signed with her Instagram handle.
