Bob de Moor

Bob de Moor, real name Robert Frans Marie De Moor (Antwerp, 1925 - Brussels, 1992), was Hergé's principal assistant. He joined the Hergé Studios on 6 March 1951 and supervised backgrounds and secondary drawings for the Tintin albums for decades without ever asking for a co-signature. In parallel he ran his own series: Barelli, Balthazar, Oncle Zigomar and Cori the Ship's Boy, a maritime tale in five albums, one of which won the Youth prize at Angoulême in 1988. A virtuoso of the ligne claire, he could move between styles with rare ease.
