Hermann

Hermann Huppen, who signs simply Hermann (Bévercé, 1938 - Brussels, 2026), is one of the great names of Belgian comics. Trained in the 1960s at Greg's studio for Tintin magazine, he made his name with Bernard Prince, Comanche and Jugurtha, then became a complete author with Jeremiah, his first solo series, launched in 1977. In 1984 he began The Towers of Bois-Maury, a sixteen-volume medieval epic praised for its historical rigour. His nervous line, often coloured directly, is instantly recognisable.
