Biography
Rocío Álvarez is a Spanish painter, illustrator and animation director based in Belgium. A fine arts graduate in Spain, she went on to train at La Poudrière animation film school in France, and her short film "Simbiosis Carnal" was widely distributed and awarded. Her drawing combines vibrant colour with an expressive line, which she applies to posters, films and murals, notably for STIB, the Circularium and City Gate. In Brussels she painted the "Biodiversity" mural in June 2022, commissioned for Greenpeace's 50th anniversary at the entrance of the Museum of Natural Sciences: four 12 m² panels devoted to the jungle, the desert, the ocean and a continental climate.
