Tinta Crua

Tinta Crua is a Portuguese street artist and illustrator based in Lisbon, active since 2008, the year the crisis hit the country hardest. He works with stencils and wheatpaste: pieces hand-painted in acrylic on recycled paper, then pasted onto construction hoardings and shop windows downtown. His drawing, simple in line and colour, carries political and social messages laced with irony, in an aesthetic close to punk fanzines. His interventions turn up all over Lisbon and his work features in Google Arts & Culture's online collections.
