Vale Stencil

Valérian Lenud, who signs his work Valé Stencil, is a French artist born in 1990 who divides his time between France and Mexico. He builds his images with spray paint through many hand-cut, multi-layered stencils, then works them over with brushes, palette knives and oil pastels. His Peacemakers project casts children as messengers of peace on walls across four continents, while Inhabitants is a long-running portrait series about cultural identity and diversity, fed by encounters with Maya, Maasai and Hmong communities. His work has been shown in Paris, Melbourne, Mexico City and Miami.
