Biography
Janey Fletcher, who paints under the name Pixie, is a London spray paint artist and illustrator. She has handled a can for over fifteen years and makes a living from two activities pursued side by side: commissioned murals and teaching, which she does in the studio as well as with school groups.
Her studio is at Euroart Studios on Markfield Road in Tottenham, and it is in that area and more widely across north and east London that most of her walls are concentrated. Her compositions are dense and highly coloured, populated by interlaced figures and motifs that take up every available inch without leaving a background.
She is a member of the G.O.T crew and has painted outside the United Kingdom on several occasions. Her stated aim stays simple and local: to put up more murals to make her city brighter, wall after wall, in streets that had none.
