Biography
Mélissa Follet is a French painter and muralist based in Rennes, in Brittany. Her work, summed up by the motto "emotion at the heart of the living world", centres on animals and human figures rendered in realistic black and white.
Her murals most often depict animals with a striking gaze, set against dark backgrounds that isolate the subject and draw the eye towards it. This approach has taken her to indoor and outdoor walls alike, working for private clients, local authorities and several street art festivals, among them le MUR de Rennes, Plein Champ in Le Mans, Street Art Magnac in Eauze and the Boulogne-sur-Mer festival.
Her path has also led her to Paris (Les Bombasphères, 240 Street) and to an artist residency in the Cantal region. Alongside mural painting, she has recently begun working as a tattoo artist.
